Global race week-end format

FRIDAY

  • 2 x 1h15 of collective tests

SATURDAY

  • « Light aerodynamic » configuration (TBD)
  • Qualifying 1 : 30 min
  • Race 1 – 44min+1 Lap

SUNDAY

  • Qualifying 2 : 30 min
  • Race 2 – 44min+1 Lap

International TV coverage currently in discussion between Renault Sport & partners.

Monaco

  • 1 free practice session
  • 1 qualifying session
  • 1 race

Friday Collective Tests increased for 2011

Maximized experience on track before qualifying, especially for for rookies,

Increased mileage:

  • 2h30 of track time every Friday (+25% of track time compared to 2009)
  • no extension of the race meeting (still from Friday to Sunday),

2 set of new tyres + 2 registered sets

FRIDAY

  • 2 x 1h15 of collective tests

2011 Meeting Format - Saturday

Each week-end, 1 race = 1 qualifying session:

  • Best way to train driver to Formula One,

2 sets of new tyres available (for Saturday and Sunday)

No reverse grid to increase sporting value of the serie:

  • The quickest is on pole position
  • A better understanding for media and spectators

44 min + 1 Lap of race with International TV coverage

SATURDAY

  • « Light aerodynamic » configuration (TBD)
  • Qualifying 1 : 30 min
  • Race 1 – 44 min + 1 Lap

2011 Meeting Format - Sunday

Performance awarded:

  • A complete 2nd round in the week-end: Qualifying 2 for Race 2
  • Not conditionned to the Qualifying 1 or Race 1
  • No reverse grid,

44 min + 1 Lap of race with international TV coverage

Manadatory Pit stop with a challenge for teams based on pit-in/pit-out time

Tyres warmers allowed for tyres used in pitstop only

SUNDAY

  • Qualifying 2 : 30 min
  • Race 2 – 44 min + 1 Lap with pitstop

Point Scoring for each race

  • 1st - 15 points
  • 2nd - 12 points
  • 3rd - 10 points
  • 4th - 8 points
  • 5th - 6 points
  • 6th - 5 points
  • 7th - 4 points
  • 8th - 3 points
  • 9th - 2 points
  • 10th - 1 point

2011 Entry Fees

  • Entry fees amount set at 27.000 € per car excl. VAT (+19.6% VAT if applicable),
  • This amount includes fees for:
    • All pre-season collective tests session in 2010 (6 days)
    • Monday test after 4th event of the season
    • Fridays sessions before the meeting
    • 9 meetings (TBC)
    • Spare parts truck service (collective tests + meetings)
    • Technical support
    • Timekeeping by WIFI
  • Payment divided in 3 steps:
    • 9000 € excl. VAT per car on December 10th 2009,
    • 9000 € excl. VAT per car on March 1st 2010
    • 9000 € excl. VAT per car on April 1st 2010
  • Pre-selected teams will be announced on the December 18th 2009

Unique format for 2011

A new challenge for drivers, teams and engineers, with the same car:

  • Light aerodynamic on Saturday (no specific part added or taken off),
  • Standard aerodynamic on Sunday,

Value for money:

  • Optimized mileage:
    • +60 minutes of track time per race meeting compared to 2009
  • 17 qualification sessions and 17 races:
    • a unique format in single seater today
    • no reverse grid
    • 2 rounds per week-end allowing a better training for drivers

Cost effective ratio track time / season cost on the single-seater market

No technical evolution except:

  • Push-to-pass feature not used in 2010
  • +300 rpm on rev limiter (from 8200 to 8500 rpm)
